School camps, magic carpets, and ski lifts for beginners

The numerous ski camps in Livigno’s town centre are ideal for inexperienced skiers and those who want to learn how to ski. Outside Hotel Carpe Diem, you’ll find ski lift no. 24 for the school camp’s ski facilities and chairlift no. 23, which will take you up to 1882 and 1921 m of altitude. Here, you can run down blue slopes (those for beginners). That’s why they are so popular among children and inexperienced snowboarders.

Children and beginners can use the magic carpet without plate to reach less high altitudes and run easy slopes to get confident with the snow. Skiers’ magic carpet is ideal for transporting sledges, bob sledges, and inflatables. This way, even if you don’t know how to ski, you can still have fun in a safe, reserved area of the slope.

Moreover, children and grownups who want to learn how to ski can take individual or group lessons at a ski course relying on Livigno’s excellent skiing instructors.

Livigno’s most spectacular slopes

If you’re an expert skier and you want to experience Livigno’s most beautiful and fun slopes, your day can start from Carpe Diem Hotel. From here, you can reach the highest part of the ski area wearing your skis and use the facilities to reach the Carosello 3000 area. Taking the chairlifts in front of the hotel you’ll reach the Livigno Centro Tagliede cableway. Get in one of its fancy yellow cabins to reach the top. Here, you take the Tagliede-Costaccia cableway (no. 27) which leads to the Costaccia hut at 2360 metres, where you can stop by to take a break or have lunch. The Valandrea Vetta chairlifts (no. 28) at the back of the mountain hut will quickly take you up to 2614 metres—the perfect spot where you can admire the breathtaking view over Livigno and the lake.

Once here, you can go back to the town by crossing several slopes (more or less technical) or taking the red slope (medium difficulty) down to the Fontane Vetta chairlifts (no. 19), which take you to the next facility. Alternatively, you can take the Blesaccia II chairlifts (no. 16), which lead to the top of the Blesaccia (2796 metres). From here, you can easily get to Carosello 3000, which offers a variety of slopes for all levels, including challenging black ones and the stunning slopes of Val Federia. Moreover, you only need one skipass, Livigno’s ski card, to access all these wonderful facilities.

To go back to Livigno’s city centre and Carpe Diem Hotel, simply follow the same route back in reverse on your skis. Yes, you can ski to our hotel! Here, you can enjoy our heated ski storage, comfortable rooms, and the restaurant in the heart of Livigno, open at lunch and dinner.
