Livigno: 2023 June events
Livigno SkyMarathon – 17 June 2023
On Sunday, 17 June, the best international skyrunners will compete in a race in Livigno with a beautiful scenery on the border between Italy and Switzerland. Brooks Livigno SkyMarathon combines the spectacular Alpine landscape of Livigno’s valley with highly technical ridges and equipped passageways, with the adrenalin and emotions that only a sport like skyrunning can ensure.
Two competitions are scheduled:
- the 36 km Brooks Livigno SkyMarathon: with a 2800 m elevation gain, this trail will touch Mount Motto (2700 m), Punta Cassana (3016 m), Piz da Rin (3007 m) and Monte delle Rezze (2858 m), i.e., the highest peaks surrounding Livigno. The long race will start at 8.30 am from the Tagliede cableway (which is also the finish point) and is open to 350 athletes who have the chance to win 100 passes for competing in the Kima Trophy, the top skyrunning race in Valtellina;
- Brooks Livigno Sky Trail: a 17 km race with a 1400 m elevation gain addressed to 200 participants who will touch Punta Cassana (3007 m altitude). Departure (9.30 a.m.) and arrival at the Tagliede cableway.
Livigno: 2023 July events
Bike Transalp Livigno – 10 and 11 July 2023
Bike Transalp is a 7-stage mountain bike race across the Alps that will take place from 9 to 15 July. It starts in Nauders (Austria) and finishes in Riva del Garda (Italy). Thousands of cyclists will participate in the Alpine MTB race, which winds its way through Valtellina, with two stages closely touching Livigno. On Monday, 10 June, the second Reschensee-Livigno stage will lead athletes to the banks of Lakes Resia in Val Venosta up to Livigno, across Val Mustair and Val Mora, passing through Cancano lakes and the Trela pass. Athletes will cover almost 100 km. The next day, the race will resume in Livigno and end in Bormio: a 65 km route crossing the Foscagno pass, Val Viola, Alpe Cardonè and Alpe Boron towards Oga.
Stralivigno – 22 July 2023
Livigno’s summer sports event has become a must for all running enthusiasts. Stralivigno is a half marathon started in 2008 and open to athletes and enthusiasts. It’s a 21-km route to be covered alone or in pairs (relay). It starts and finishes in Aquagranda after crossing Livigno’s valleys, mountain trails, and paved and dirt roads.
Livigno Folk Fest – 31 July 2023
This festival is one of the most popular summer events in Livigno, attracting numerous visitors who come to the Alps on holiday every year. Livigno Folk Fest celebrates Livigno’s old traditions through parades in typical local costumes, ancient crafts, and local food—an evening across the streets of this village where you’ll experience the life of the past century.
